Welcome to The Feeding Tree, a charming café nestled within the stunning natural surroundings of Permai Rainforest Resort in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. This delightful eatery offers a perfect blend of local flavors and breathtaking views that will leave you enchanted.

As you step into The Feeding Tree, you’ll be greeted by a spacious open-air setting, where the gentle breeze and the sounds of nature harmonize to create a refreshing atmosphere. Imagine savoring a delicious meal while overlooking the sea, with playful monkeys and curious squirrels as your occasional dining companions. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience for all your senses.

The menu here is a treasure trove of authentic Malaysian cuisine. Indulge in their nasi lemak with beef rendang, which strikes a perfect balance between creamy richness and spicy depth, or delight in the dabai fried rice, where each grain is infused with a smoky essence that perfectly complements its vibrant flavors. Patrons have hailed the mee goreng as exceptional and the nasi lemak as one of the best they’ve tasted, even compared to those from the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur. Such praise speaks volumes about the quality of the dishes served here!

One of the key highlights of The Feeding Tree is its commitment to customer satisfaction. Reviewers have consistently reported positive experiences with the attentive staff, who go above and beyond to ensure your dining needs are met. For instance, Katherine Yap recounted their eagerness to accommodate her group’s needs after they were let down by a lackluster breakfast buffet, demonstrating a flexibility that is increasingly rare in today’s dining scene. The attentive service enriched her experience after a long hike, surpassing mere culinary satisfaction.

While the restaurant may be a tad pricier than other local spots, especially when compared to European standards, the value is undeniable given the stunning setting and generous portions. Rebecca Ashton noted the superb breakfast options available to overnight guests, enhancing the allure of a stay at the resort.

Whether you’re a local in search of a serene escape or a traveler seeking a unique dining experience, The Feeding Tree stands out as a must-visit destination. Come for the delicious food, stay for the mesmerizing views, and leave with memories that linger long after your last bite.

Remember to bring your family along, as the café is spacious and family-friendly, making it an ideal spot to relax and rejuvenate after a day of adventure. Open daily, you can reach them at +60 82-846 487 for any inquiries or reservations.

The mee goreng was exceptional, the nasi lemak was one of the best we have tried so far even compared to KL ones. The view was amazing, highly recommended to dine here.

We dropped in after a morning hike at the Permai trails, initially settling for the breakfast buffet but we never got to it as after the “refill” it was still empty with nothing to eat. Hence we negotiated for a la carte meals from the kitchen. The 5 star goes to the very helpful & apologetic staff, and I was quite thankful they agreed & helped out as we were famished after the hike. The fried bee hoon turned out better than expected just a bit too salty with very tasty teh-C and a great view & breezy weather for our breakfast!

Restaurant is part of Permai Rainforest Resort, so only for overnight guests and day visitors. Great views of sea/ forest and good WiFi. Great breakfast options with lots of food, included in our stay. There aren't many vegetarian options but they can be flexible if you ask. Maybe more expensive than other Malaysian places but not compared to European prices. Halal so no pork or alcohol.

A cafe overlooking the sea. Open air with fans, and the occasional monkeys and squirrels for company. Their nasi lemak beef rendang is quite delicious. As is their dabai fried rice: smokey and great flavors. Big space and family friendly. Just up from the beach, so really convenient

The Feeding Tree is the main restaurant at Permai Rainforest Resort, where you’ll also have breakfast. The food quality is decent and prices are reasonable. However, service is quite slow—understandable since only a couple of staff handle hundreds of guests, but still frustrating if you’re in a hurry. Overall, a decent spot for a meal if you’re staying at the resort and don’t mind waiting.
